So, I reserve the right to add to this list as I remember certain arguments.
1) Gas prices - My bike (which is a gas hog as bikes go) gets 45mpg IN TOWN.
2) Parking permits - At UA, parking permits are $400 for cars and $75 for bikes. If your gonna be here (or anywhere other than NAU) for 5 years (like I am) thats a savings of over $1500.
3) Insurance - My bike is < $400 for the year.
4) Maintenance - In general, fewer things need to be changed out (ex: tires).
5) Safety - Yes, cycles are more "dangerous". But, look at some stats. You can significantly lower chances of accidents/injury by wearing a helmet/saftey gear, not using alcohol, riding technique, taking the safety course, etc.
